Happy Monday!

Hello friends!

I hope this finds you well. We have a beautiful, sunny day here in Windsor, Ontario.

One of my primary focuses of this blog is to discuss life as a Proverbs 31 woman. If you are a woman who has a full time job or a woman who stays home with her children, this is for you. I have done both. Both are equally satisfying and hard. There is never enough of you to go around.

One direction I’d like to go with this blog is to encourage you that are loved and special. A little background on my family. I have two beautiful children. My son is 5 years old and in Senior Kindergarten. My daughter is almost 2 years old and has many food allergies. We have become a family where we have cut out nuts, wheat, soy and dairy. One direction I’d like to go with this blog is chronicling this new world. I am a pretty decent cook so I have been able to make many recipes safe for my daughter to eat. I have learned to modify and change recipes so they taste good and are safe for her to eat. (also so I do not have to cook two separate meals). Would you all be interested in this?

Another passion of mine is sewing. There is a phrase “Sewing Mends the Soul”. To me, this is 150% true. I can go down to my sewing studio and create something. This is my area where the world’s problems just go away. Its my little piece of heaven on earth.

I also am a BIG coffee drinker. Drinking and recommending different blends of coffee is something I love. I look forward to waking up and smelling that aroma of my fresh pot of coffee brewing in the morning.

My sweet husband is someone who struggles with chronic migraines. It breaks my heart to see him suffer so much with them. Chronic migraine sufferers, I’d love to hear from you.

Last but not least, Its hard to admit but I struggle with anxiety and depression. Its something I hid from myself and others for many years. I’m on the road right now to trying to figure out the best way to deal with it.

Philippians 4:5-7 says:

The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

This my friends is one verse that I try to lean on when times get hard. This is a struggle I deal with on a daily basis. There is a stigma about anxiety and depression that I would like to help eliminate in any way I can.

Friends, I hope my blog will be a place of inspiration for you. I’d love to hear from you. Your ideas, your recipes, your favorite bible verses, your favorite types of fabric, etc. There is so much in this beautiful world I’d love to learn more about from you!

Don’t forget this….

Proverbs 31:31

Give her of the fruit of her hands, and let her works praise her at the gates.

Ladies keep on doing what you’re doing. Give all glory to God and in everything do it in his name.

Lots of Love, Jen
